On the road to Brazil and back
5/09/2003, Bradenton, Fla.— Mike
Etchieson, Signs Now President, and Ursula Hoffmaster, International
Support Coordinator, have returned from visiting Signs Now affiliated sign
centers in Brazil. On the top of their agenda was the dedication of a new
center owned by franchisee Jorge Novais. This is the center for which
Novais last year secured a record-breaking $1-mil loan from the Overseas
Private Investment Corp. (OPIC). The loan is the first such loan made to a franchised
business. Novais said he expects his new 30,000-plus square-foot facility to
serve businesses in an eight-state area. "This new Signs Now center
reflects an incredible amount of hard work on the part of Jorge and his
team, who not only have produced an innovative design for their new
center, but who have also broken new ground in securing international
financing for business expansion," Etchieson said. "I’m pleased and
proud that Jorge and his team are members of our team, for they reflect
all the best qualities that our company strives to achieve. But I’m not
surprised by their accomplishment, for they also reflect the nature of
Signs Now, which has always been a company focused firmly on the future."

An installation crew works feverishly in the pre-dawn
hours to install the Signs Now Delta-Dot logo on a new 30,000 square-foot
facility in Brazil. The business was scheduled for a grand opening
celebration later in the day.
